Residencies

Cause and FX prides itself on the interactive, fun, and highly engaging programs it provides to students.  Through in-school and after-school residencies, which in the case of Shakespeare residencies lead students toward performance in the schools, and in the case of Project Compassion guide students toward a greater understanding of complex humanitarian concerns, students will discover the power of their voices, their choices, and gain skills and experiences they’ll cherish throughout the rest of their lives.

Shakespeare Residency

Shakespeare residencies for grades 6-12 immerse students in performative learning through abridged Shakespeare plays or themed scenes. Participants analyze text, develop character interpretations, and perform for audiences, fostering collaboration, personal presence, and enthusiasm for Shakespeare. Teaching artists and classroom teachers partner to promote active learning, community, and discussion.

Project Compassion

Project Compassion, created by Stephen Davis for Ho-ho-kus School's eighth-grade curriculum, is a seven-to-ten-class educational game addressing genocide. Students navigate an imagined society, making impactful choices to preserve their characters’ lives. The interactive game fosters relationships, collaboration, and critical thinking, engaging participants in meaningful, immersive learning experiences.
